China Passes the U.S. in Number of Interent Users

According to the China Internet Network Information Center, China has 253 million "internet citizens".  This makes China the country with the most Internet users in the world.  The U.S is second with roughly 220 million Internet users. 

The chart below is taken from the Global Commerce Inititative's Future Value Chain 2018 report and shows the rapid growth of Chinese Internet users.

It’s not surprising at all. China has the largest population of Internet users (253 Million), although one of the lowest penetration rates (19%) followed by the US (220 Million and a penetration of 72.5%).
