CNN has an article about a small construction company starting on Rhode Island's first stimulus package project. Family-run D'Ambra Construction is resurfacing and improving a section of Route 138 in RI.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has 53 projects it plans to fund with stimulus money. They expect these projects to directly employ 1500 and create 3000 in-direct jobs.
Many small and mid-sized construction companies will benefit from the roughly $140 billion of construction funding in the stimulus package. Firms that supply them with goods and services will also benefit.
We estimate that about 505,000 small business construction jobs will be created or saved by the stimulus package. Details on this and other information is available in the free eBook The Stimulus Package: What it Means for Growing Businesses

Construction funding by the stimulus package is going to really help all of us in the short term. Thank God for this stimulus. I just wonder how long the money will last and how many jobs it will create total.
