Certainly lends credo to the fact taht you MUST be on either Facebook, MySpace, or YouTube, doesn't it?

With so many online"work from home" scams on the world wide web today I was encouraged and enlightened when I came across your site. Thanks for a job well done! Sincerely, Marc

top social sites

They are definitely the top social sites , but I think the percents aren't right
as much as i know myspace has larger percents then 18

From where did you get this ridiculous list that has also been published on several other sites offering the so-called top 10 social networking sites? Twitter is more popular by far than YourTube and MySpace, and where is Friendster?

Please explain who provided these results? They are totally senseless.

Pete:

The data is from Hitwise via marketing charts. It is from last december and for the US.

While Twitter is growing rapidly, it has fewer users than either MySpace or YouTube.

Another source, Nielsen, confirms this. Take a look at: http://www.insidefacebook.com/2010/02/23/nielsen-facebook-led-2009-social-media-traffic-growth-in-the-us-and-abroad/

Friendster is not on the list because it simply has not been successful in the US.

A year has passed and I'm pretty sure of MySpace share of social media traffic getting smaller.

Marketing on Facebook and Youtube is completely different. One allows you to pin point your target audience, down to age, interest and gender, while the other is still relatively generic.

Interesting to see Google playing catch up in 2011.
