The QPS Employment Group is a staffing and recruiting firm operating in Wisconsin and Illinois. They recently surveyed 400 local companies in these two states. The found 72% of the companies they surveyed are feeling the economic recovery.
I found these results very encouraging because the average respondent had 95 employees. These results show not just large corporations are seeing the benefits from the economic recovery.
This is a good sign that the small business economy is also starting to recover.
A bit discouraging is despite 72% feeling the recovery and 55% expecting their business to improve, only 37% expect to add staff. These results highlight the jobless nature of this recovery. This is likely due to 74% of the respondents still listing the economy as the biggest issue facing their company.
Kudos to QPS for their survey work. It is very useful to see how different regions of the country are responding to economic and business conditions. Click here to download the survey results.
