We're seeing a noticeable increase in the number of fashion trucks. These are trucks that sell clothing, accessories and other fashion items.
As we've pointed out in the past, entrepreneurs across a wide range of industries are recognizing the economic and business model advantages of truck-based commerce.
A good example is Nomad, a fashion truck operating in the New York city area. Nomad is pictured below and as you can see, it offers offers ladies’ fashions from the back of a retrofitted delivery truck.
Another example is Fashion Mobile, which claims to be Minnesota’s first mobile boutique. They have a really interesting site where they talk about closing a brick and mortar store and buying a truck.
They also have a good description of what it takes to start a fashion truck. Below is a short video that does a nice job of describing the Fashion Mobile and another fashion truck.
Expect to see many more fashion trucks in the near future. Also expect to see truck-based commerce offerings in other industries.
