I have to say when I first heard about this product I thought it might be a joke. But Fisher Price really is selling what they clumsily call the "Newborn-to Toddler-Appivity Seat for iPad Device".

The release of this product is getting quite a bit of media coverage, and almost all is negative:
Time calls the seat a " kind of a harebrained idea" and points out the American Association of Pediatrics is against any electronic media exposure for babies.
Mashable's article on the seat is titled Fisher Price Appitivity Seat is Bad for Babies, so you quickly know where they stand.
The Los Angeles Times covers an effort by a parenting group to get the product recalled.
The Washington Post quotes a professor of pediatrics calling the chair "a terrible idea".
BTW, Fisher Price is not the only company making iPad seats. The picture below shows CTA's iPotty seat.
