Om Malik's broadband blog has a great set of comments on how the Skype outage has been affecting globalized small businesses... turns out this has become a very important piece of small business infrastucture.
GigaOM Open Thread: Did Skype Outage KO Your Work?
I have been getting quite a few emails from folks who are fuming over the ongoing Skype outage. The Skype team is trying its best to fix the problem, but that isn’t helping those who depend on the service. One of our readers Ariel Porath in an email wrote, “With half of my developers in Estonia, we rely- probably a bit too much- on Skype throughout the day/every day for workflow/communications. Never expected five nines- but this outage has caused a prolonged headache.”

You can see a history of the outage on my blog:http://www.sme-blog.com/comments/skype-having-problems - it started yesterday about 09:00 BST.
We have over 250'000 clients with access problems - I've posted one of my Small Business Checklist for Skype's benefit: http://www.sme-blog.com/how-to/small-business-skype-checklist-handling-customer-care
We have some pretty upset customers.
