I ran across this social network drawing in a presentation on economic development by Scott Hutcheson from the Purdue University Center for Regional Development. Very simple and clear.
This slide starts a section on social network theory and applications in regional economic development. This section starts on slide 66 (the presentation is 103 slides).
The broader presentation is on "Open Source Economic Development" which focuses on network building to improve regional economic growth and innovation. The Institute for Open Economic Networks website has more details on this concept.
Thanks for the information. I created two social networking sites to support my books, business services and products, and service work. It really helps me create brand awareness, share information, build community, and do good work.
