The Amazing Urbanization of Asia

The Global Commerce Initiative has released The Future Value Chain 2018, a research and forecast report focused on the consumer products industry.  Lot's of interesting information on global trends.

One item that jumped out at me is their forecast for the rapid urbanization of Asia.  Key quote:

"Asia is going through the most rapid urbanization the world has ever seen.  Projections indicate that over 500 million Asians will move to cities over the next 25 years - almost 2 million people per month"

To put that in perspective, Asia will be adding roughly 3 New York City urban equivalents each year for the next 25 years.  Simply stunning!
