Regular readers know we like pet trends. But I admit our coverage has been slanted towards dogs, mostly because I like dogs.
But cats are more popular with online audiences. In fact, according to Bloomberg's The Magazine Trying to Bring the Web's Cat Obsession Offline, cats drive almost 15 percent of all Web traffic.
There are also about 30 million Google searches per month for the search term “cat".
Despite cats dominating web traffic, a few dogs and other animals also do well online. The article picture below shows a mix of animal Internet stars.
Grumpy Cat is probably the biggest current Internet animal star; she's valued at around $1 million.
Grumpy Cat earns her money. She has a grueling appearance schedule, a hard-driving agent and an owner who works with her full time. She even has to deal with younger cats gunning for her job. No wonder she's grumpy.
