The number U.S. small businesses exporting goods and services has increased substantially over the last decade.
We call the smallest of these firms Micro Multinationals and thanks to the Internet and a growing array of online marketplaces and services it's never been easier to be an exporter.
But despite the growth in SMB exporters, too many small businesses are missing out on the opportunities presented by global markets.
This is why we're a sponsor of the upcoming Global Small Business Forum, which takes place in Chicago on October 23rd.
The conference covers the nuts and bolts small businesses need to know to get started and thrive in international markets.
Sessions include information for traditional exporters as well as how digitization and global ecommerce is creating the ability to easily and effectively enter overseas markets.
The conference is being organized by Global Trade. Regular readers know we often refer to their Global Small Business blog and turn to them for information on small businesses going global.
The conference is very reasonably priced - just $105 - so if you are in or near the Chicago area on October 23rd, it should be on your schedule.
