BI Intelligence's 2015 E-Commerce Demographics Report (paid subscription required) nicely covers the mainstreaming of online commerce. According to their report, almost three quarters of online Americans shop online.
This is not surprising. But what was interesting and bit surprising are the online shopping differences by sex.
BI Intelligence reports that in 2014 women accounted for 57% of online shoppers in the US last year and men for 43%. Their data on this comes from Experian.
But there's an even bigger gap when it comes to using mobile devices for online shopping. As the report chart below shows, of US consumers who say they completed a purchase on a mobile device in the last month, 66.5% were women and 33.5% were men.
