The London Times has an interesting special section on the future of work that was developed by the marketing content agency Ranconteur.
The report covers a lot of ground. Everything from automation to physiological testing is discussed.
We've recently been working on better understanding how technology and automation is impacting knowledge work, so we found the automation section most interesting.
The report chart below shows (click to enlarge) the results of two surveys on the potential impact of AI, robotics and automation.
We found it interesting that 5% of the respondents said their friends will date robots. It begs the question what percent would join their friends and also date robots.
It appears the shared workspace provider Regus was the lead sponsor of this special section. There's an article with the title The Future of Work is Already Here that's clearly an advertorial for Regus. Key quote:
Should you need proof that the office is not dead, just take a closer look at Regus, which has become the go-to flexible workspace provider for everyone from sole traders looking for a hot desk to multinationals seeking to house entire divisions.
But the rest of the article provides a nice summary of the advantages of coworking and shared workspaces. So despite being an ad, it's still well worth reading.
And the overall special report is well worth reading. Not a lot new here for those that follow the future of work. But it's nicely organized and well written.
